Volunteer to help clean up the starting line of the ING New York City Marathon
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Have you ever dreamed about participating in the ING New York City Marathon but never got around to that little thing we call training? Well, so have we and here is our chance to be involved in all the energy and excitement of the starting line while providing a well needed service to the runners. A little background here: The Race is held on Novemeber 1st. The weather in New York this time of the year can be tricky to forecast to say the least. On top of this, most of the runners show up as early as 5 am to take in some of the action and jostle for a good starting position. When race time comes, the temperature can warm up and many runners just chuck their outer wear on the grassy fields of Fort Wadsworth. This is where you and Wearable Collections come in. We have partnered up with the New York Road Runners to try and assure that none of this discarded clothing heads towards the landfills. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help us take on this gargantuan task. The day will surely be fun and exciting, but there will also be a lot of work involved. Volunteers are expected to arrive around 5am and wont leave till 3:30 pm. So if you think you are up to a Marathon of a day yourself and would like to volunteer, please fill out this form. You can also email us your name, email and phone number to vols@wearablecollections.com
We would love your help in proving that Wearable Collections can handle any job as long as we have the support of the community.
