It’s wonderful to see corporations in the fashion industry collaborating to come up with sustainable solutions that will benefit us all.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition is an industry-wide group of leading apparel and footwear brands, retailers, manufacturers, non-governmental organizations, academic experts and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world.
Their aim is to successfully frame a pre-competitive, universal index to measure and benchmark sustainable practices and products for use by the entire apparel and footwear sector.
Big name corporate participants include: Adidas, ASICS, Duke Center for Sustainability and Commerce, Esprit, Esquel, Gap Inc., H&M, HanesBrands, JC Penney, Kohl’s Department Stores, Lenzing, Levi Strauss & Co., L.L.Bean, Inc., New Balance, Nike, Nordstrom, Otto Group, Patagonia, PUMA, REI, Target, Timberland, USA DuPont, Verité, Walmart, and many others.
