WHAT IS TEXTILE WASTE?
Textile waste, or should we say post consumer textile waste consists of items such as; clothing, leather goods, shoes, linens, carpet and upholstery.
WHAT TYPES OF TEXTILES DOES WEARABLE COLLECTIONS ACCEPTS?
Wearable Collections accepts all used clean clothing including shoes and hats. We also accept household items such as curtains, linens, towels, handbags and belts.

IS WEARABLE COLLECTIONS A NON-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
We are not a non-for-profit organization. Rather, we serve as an agent for non-for profit organizations. We handle all logistics for non-for-profit organizations, while serving as a fundraising tool.
CAN I GET A RECEIPT FOR DONATED CLOTHES?
Sorry we do not provide receipts since we are not a non-for-profit organization. If you need a receipt please bring your clothing to either Goodwill , The Salvation Army or one of the thrift shops in your area
WHERE DOES THE DONATED CLOTHING GO?
Third-party vendors purchase the donated clothing providing reduced-cost clothing for consumers in South American countries.
IS ALL THE CLOTHING RECYCLED?
Clothing recycling is one of the most efficient recycling businesses. Close to 50% of textile waste is recovered as secondhand clothing, while 20% of the material processed becomes wiping and polishing cloths, and 26% is converted into fiber for products such as mattresses and couches, according to the council of textile recycling.
DOES THE RECYCLING PROGRAM ONLY EXIST IN MANHATTAN?
Wearable Collections is expanding its business everyday. If we are not currently in your neighborhood, we will try to work with you on creating a sufficient load to send one of our vans out to you.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF IMPLEMENTING A CLOTHING RECYCLED PROGRAM IN MY BUILDING?
None! Wearable Collections will provide you with everything you need to make for a successful clothing recycling program in your building.
